Oops! There goes the stock market just in time for the election, as Coronavirus cases are again on the upswing. Mask-up America! Over the past couple of days, I’ve actually been able to write about subjects other than riots, politics, homelessness, the economy and health issues. They are issues hard to avoid, especially here in Portland. I’ve tried to focus on sports and mindless TV like Shameless and Borat. Boredom continues to gnaw at our existence. Routines and ruts are now a way of life. There’s just no getting away these days.

We meet with our builder tomorrow, hoping for progress on our new home. This at least gives us something positive to focus on. I do dread the thought of packing up all our stuff again and getting resettled. Tonight is my night to cook pork chops – part of my weekly kitchen duty. It’s at least a break from meatless Monday and Tuesday, as we slowly edge into the new diet plan. There’s no more baseball to watch with the Dodgers victory last night as they wrapped-up a World Series championship for the first time in 32-years. No longer does L.A. stand for “lost again.” The City of Angels claims its second major sports trophy this year.

The one positive thing that I still do everyday in run. Today was the 4,322th consecutive day. It’s kept some of the weight off and bolsters my attitude, even though today’s post might not reflect this. I’m still grateful to be healthy and anxious to take the next step in retirement living. We’ll find out more tomorrow on the construction process, expected to take four months. It’s time to face another day!
