It’s been a few days since I’ve had time to write. We’ve been entertaining a friend from Indianapolis, so the daily routine has been slightly altered. There was no “Meatless Monday” and “Matinee Monday” was a repeat viewing of No Time To Die. My friend had not seen it and I had some holes to fill in my understanding of the plot. We did a martini toast “To James” after the show at the 1951 Grill before heading home to dinner. My wife is still nursing a rib injury, so she’s had to make compromises with her daily activities. It’s often painful for her to move.

Mother Marriott has now been paid in full, leaving only annual maintenance fees to deal with as we plan our future vacations. It’s about $.60/point with about 12,000 points to use every year. Add another $.35 for BOA financing, so overall each point costs about $1.00. There are now over 30,500 paid points in the bank to use over the next two-and-a-half years after Cape Canaveral in November, Christmas time at Disney World, and 10-days at Singer Island next April that have already been booked. We’ll probably take a second shot at Tahoe and Kauai once travel fully reopens. Hilton Head, Atlantic City, Boston, and New York City are also in our future plans, along with China and a cruise of two.

The alcohol has been flowing the past few days.  We’ve spent a lot of time on the lanai enjoying the coolness of the evening and keeping an eye on the alligators. My friend left this morning for the drive back to Indiana, so life will temporarily revert back to boring old normal. Our weekend guests aren’t due for a few more days and this afternoon is reserved for pedicures. Another movie – Dune – might be in order? Another trip to the ballpark to watch the Braves in the World Series and some Trick or Treating have also been discussed. Retirement life continues to be  awesome, along with the Florida sunsets.
