The Florida heat continues to take a lot out of me every morning, but the pool revitalized my energy. Before I knew it, it was time to sit down and write. It hardly seems like 24-hours goes by between these morning rituals. As the day goes on, I’ll continue to watch After Life and Virgin River. Tuesdays are now designated as the day to go to the beach, but a warranty appointment this afternoon will interrupt this plan. We ended up seeing Jungle Cruise in 3D yesterday, fascinated with how Disney will eventually convert a slow-moving lazy river park ride into an action-filled, Indiana Jones-like adventure.

I joined a Fantasy Football league again with my son, as we’ll soon make our #6 pick and begin to build our team. It’s been probably 20 years since “Mike’s Macho Men” helped other teams win prize money at the end of the season. There might have been one year that we finished second and broke even for the season. Most of my players ended up injured or with poor season performances, so word was starting to spread among the NFL greats to avoid being on my team. I thought of actually collecting money from the players themselves to assure them from staying off my fantasy roster. This way I could actually make a few bucks rather than squander my entry fee every year.

It’s always a lot of work to keep the team in order each week with off-dates, trades, injuries, and match-up challenges. Since the Bears and Colts get little coverage in this area, it will make watching the Red Zone more interesting in an attempt to follow the scoring of the players we draft. The Buccaneers, Jaguars, and Dolphins will get the local television coverage here, while I was stuck watching the 49ers, Seahawks, and Raiders in the Northwest. Because of such regional coverage, it’s been years since I’ve actually seen the Bears play anyone but the Packers on TV. I also haven’t been to an NFL game in five years when my wife and I went to see the Seahawks battle the Panthers in Seattle. That year, 2016, I also went to Chicago to see the Bears play the Vikings. I could drive up to Tampa in October and watch the Bears vs. Bucs match-up, but that is probably just a Fantasy!
