It was a really bad weekend of sports for me. The Colts, Bears, and IU all lost in football. IU then lost a key soccer match against Maryland and the Braves fell short of clinching the World Series. Even in the fantasy football world, my team couldn’t win. I look forward to a better week, starting with the Noah Clowney announcement today of where he will attend school. Will he join the basketball Hoosiers in 2023 or will it be another strikeout for me after a frustrating sports weekend? I need a rainbow between storms.

Dune is on the movie docket for today, along with another trip to the chiropractor. My wife is off to bridge club after taking our schnauzer Tally to the dog park. She is quite the social butterfly, trying to keep us both busy. The year has gone by quite quickly with the calendar just turning over to November. I was greeted by 50 degree temperatures on this morning’s run, a refreshing surprise. I stopped to say hello to a fellow neighborhood runner who told me to “enjoy.” Maybe he enjoys the strain, but not me. I just want to get the miles over for the day, wishing that I had his attitude. It would be so much easier if it truly was enjoyable. I guess I’m just a masochist.

I’ll call my sister, as I do every Monday and watch the newest episode of my favorite TV show, Curse of Oak Island. It’s Season 9 of the History Channel series that has held my attention for years. I hope they actually find something this year related to the 225-year old treasure mystery. It gives me something else to look forward to each week outside of sports. It’s all a mystery to me!
