Thanks (giving)

Everyone give thanks,
For another year.
New years eve,
Is nearly here.

.

Some didn’t make it,
Some in ill health.
Most getting by,
A few with great wealth.

,

To those on the street,
Or in hospital care.
I worry you suffer,
But glad I’m not there.

.

I don’t understand,
Why some succeed.
And too many of these,
Are filled with greed.

.

They don’t pay it forward,
Or offer to give back.
Is it self-importance?
Or feelings they lack?

.

Share the wealth,
Whenever you can.
Give to those challenged,
Make it part of your plan.

.

Give time or money,
And your best smile.
Show some compassion,
Go the extra mile.

.

Always be thankful,
For what you’ve got.
Even if you haven’t,
Got a lot.
