Election Day is over but the fight has just started. Extra days of tabulation are required with a greater chance for tampering. Seven states remain in the balance in what will be the closest and most controversial race in history. Biden will win the popular vote, as was the case with the Democrats four years ago, but Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin electoral votes hang on less than 1% of the population. So far, the only swing state is Arizona, with not much having changed since the Civil War and North/South loyalties. Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania remain on the fence. Wall Street is doubling down on both a Joe Biden victory and stimulus package. Trump is trying to push things along, knowing that every “late” vote will probably favor his opponent. Prepare for an aftershock!

Portland is sticking with it’s useless Mayor, but there was only mild reaction on the streets last night. People were home monitoring the election results, plus it was raining. Most of the windows have been boarded up and downtown businesses closed for at least a few days, expecting repercussions. Protestors will eventually catch the city off-guard once beefed-up security measures return to normal. Most importantly, Oregon becomes the first state to legalize psychedelic mushrooms. We are truly Trailblazers!

As we make our future move from a Blue state to a Red state, I hope to leave the protesting behind in favor of sunshine. There are too many people here suffering from Vitamin D deficiencies and related depression. It’s a beautiful place to live, but downtown has been trashed. I’m also trading the threat of hurricanes for the inevitable earthquake. I hope it never happens, but we will leave behind our emergency kit for those who may need it. In the meantime, the only only area aftershock will be the election results should Trump somehow manage to pull this out.
