A friend has provided assistance with editing and content on my pandemic novel attempt. It’s titled the Table of Dope, the story of a college drug bust. It takes place in Bloomington, Indiana where we both went to school. He sent me some pictures from that era and some good suggestions, along with corrections. Hopefully, it will inspire me to work again on this project in lieu of spending so much wasted time in front of the boob tube. If nothing else, our e-mail exchange brought back a lot of memories, including my roommate at Albion College, who coincidentally went to military school with this friend.

I’ve opened all my birthday cards, e-mails, and Facebook postings regarding the Big 7-0. It hardly seems possible that all those years have gone by. I struggled through another run this morning with some heel pain. This afternoon, I’m joining my son at Buffalo Wild Wings for the Fantasy Football Draft. It’s just another indication that the Summer is ending and cooler Fall weather is on the way. College football started yesterday, while the end of the NFL pre-season concludes today. In two short weeks, we’ll be in Tahoe if the fires don’t prevent our traveling there. In the meantime, it’s Daniel Tiger and Majesty of Rock to break up the routine. Santana was a birthday bust (See Post #1786) – at least for this year!

While we were in Tampa yesterday, the electrician finished wiring our LED lighting under the kitchen cabinets and installed our new bathroom fixtures. I added two new shower heads to the project completion list. Our overhead fans should finally arrive in October along with the patio furniture. At that point, the house will be 95% finished, so promises my wife. She will soon order the pool heater and in a few weeks, work will begin on the driveway paver expansion. Then, we will be officially ready for company, although we do have our first overnight guest over Labor Day weekend. Personally, it’s time to get back to the Table of Dope and finish the story that I started.
