Doctors this morning and whiskey tonight is today’s Covid plan.  I’ve opened the bottle of Angel’s Envy that came with my Flaviar subscription.  Yesterday’s Whiskey Happy Hour included two more James Bond movies, Casino Royale #22 2006) and Quantum of Solace (#23 2012), entering the Daniel Craig 007 era. I’m nearing the end of my Bond-athon, with only Skyfall (#24 2012) and Spectre (#25 2015) remaining to complete the mission. Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnon have already fulfilled  Her Majesty’s Service, while Craig owes us at least one more, No Time to Die (#26 2021). I’ll then have to come up with a new Covid viewing plan.

This Bond obsession started last year with a trip to Phuket, Thailand back when world travel was possible. A boat excursion took us to James Bond Island featured in The Man with the Golden Gun (#9 1974), starring Moore as 007. However, it wasn’t until the death of Sir Sean Connery on Halloween of this year that the entire James Bond movie collection could be viewed for free. With our government making plans for vaccine distribution, it’s my sole job to relieve the daily boredom with a Covid Plan of my own.

At the heart of my Covid plan is the daily run, regular check-ups with my doctor, writing therapy, mindless television viewing, and Happy Hour.  All five of these exercises in maintaining sanity will take place today. For variety, I do have to get in the car to get to my appointments this morning, as normally only the daily run and dog duties take me outside the apartment bubble. Travel will not take place again until mid-January unless those plans change like everything else around us. As I now prepare to leave the safety of my bubble, it leaves me only this to ask: Do you have a Covid plan in place?
