There were 3 Guys and 3 Gals in our Florida family this week. We often had to divide into two cars, one for the Guys and the other for the Gals. The Three Guys went to Five Guys for lunch, while the 3 Gals went to the beach with two other Gals who eventually went home. All of us remaining Guys and Gals went to Hooters for football, and added another Guy to our family in the process, making it a new total of 4 Guys and 3 Gals. That One Guy then went back to his apartment later that evening. This morning, 1 Gal went to work and 1 to school along with 1 Guy. Finally, Two Guys and a Gal went to the ballgame on the way to This Guy’s flight home to Portland. How many Guys and Gals now remain in Florida?

The Tampa Bay Rays won a decisive game three of their Playoff Series again the Houston Astros. My son, one of the Guys, and his 17-month old youngest daughter, one of the Gals, joined me for a few innings at Tropicana Field. I would have to call it the “Juice Battle,” since the first two games were at Minute Maid Park. We saw Four Guys hit early home runs for the home team to set-up a 10-3 victory and extend the Ray’s season another day.

I’ll be back together with My Gal in Portland after four days apart. She entertained two Gals from Indianapolis who came to visit for an extended weekend. I get back just in time to take our two Schnauzer Gals to the Dog Spa for grooming and visit the Tooth Cleaning Gal for my quarterly appointment. Later this week it will be Four Guys for Wild Wings.

For the record, I don’t normally refer to women as “Gals” or men as “Guys.” In fact, it takes a lot of gall to even exploit the term “Gals,” although it at least implies “youthful.” I guess between calling Two Guys and a Truck for moving services and having a Five Guys burger, Guy Things have been on my mind of late, and “Gals” could be considered a partner in alliteration. Or, should women be referred to as “one of the guys?”
